Ch. Kismet's Silver Classic Completes His Championship in 2009!
Kismet's Silver Classic, better known as Dylan or “Dilly”, completed his championship with well known handler Diana Rockwell of Harper, Texas. He secured his first major at the Shetland Sheepdog Club of Houston Specialty Show last January under Judge Mark McMillan for 4 points.
Dylan's sire is Ch. Kismet’s Lasting Impression, a beautiful bi-black, and his dam is the blue merle Kismet’s Silver Sateen. He is pictured at left as shown by Mendy Keech of Littleton, Colorado with Judge Mark McMillan for his first major win.
Dylan is a nicely proportioned Sheltie with great movement and flashy markings. Around the house, he is noted for his speed and exuberance. He loves to run as fast as he can for the sheer joy of moving. Dylan has been shown in Texas, Colorado, Louisiana, and New Mexico.
Kismet’s Silver Classic is owned by and resides with Mary Visser of Grandview Kennels in Georgetown, Texas.
Dylan was bred by Guy & Thelma Mauldin of Kismet Kennels.

Nearly eleven years ago a very special little blue merle sheltie girl was born. By six weeks of age it was apparent that she would be tiny and indeed she measured only 11.25" tall. Misty Mouse was a delightful little girl with endless love. She went on to earn eighteen agility titles, and at 10 1/2 years of age, she earned her Rally Novice title.
Beside her accomplishments in the ring, Mouse was very active as a therapy dog, working closely with hospice patients and their families. She also became the face of Dr. Christine Rees' Dermatomyositis studies at Texas A&M and did multiple public appearances for that cause, including the 2002 ASSA symposium.
At January's end, Mouse became sick and her mom took her to see the doctors at Texas A&M. After several days in the ICU, it became clear that she would not win the battle. So in the early afternoon, outside where she was happiest there at the vet school, on a blanket in mom's lap with her dragon fighting buddy Flair beside her and surrounded by friends who loved her, Mouse got her wings and went to the Rainbow Bridge.
Mouse wasn't a conformation star, she was spayed before she ever had a season, her agility titles were hard won and she never set the agility world on fire, but she touched many lives. She exemplified so many of the qualities that make Shelties such special companions and her life reminds us how much our canine friends make the world a better place.
